Holidays with your dog in the Dolomites

Four legs, lots of hair and a big heart

He's our best friend, with his two big eyes that melt our hearts. No-one else has such a special place in our affections. Yes, that's him: our dog, a much-loved hairy member of the family. What would holidays be like without him? We too love these delightful creatures, and so dogs are always welcome at our hotel in the Dolomites!

A holiday for dogs? Seriously?

Your dog is welcome in any type of room. He can also join you on the large sun terrace (but the Aperol spritz is just for masters and owners ;-), in the bar and lounge area and in our Jägerstube (hunter's bar) with Swiss pine panelling.
On request, we will be happy to set aside a special table for you, so that your faithful friend can accompany you to meals instead of sitting alone in your room.

All our extras for four-legged friends

A own sunbathing lawn with scenic view of the Dolomites, a map of the area marking routes that are suitable for dogs, a dog toilet with special bags, a fridge in your room for any dog-food you brought from home (except in the Adler Annexe) and lots of special advice about hikes and top places to visit if you're taking along a dog - all this for only € 20 a night.

Wow, what a view!

There are lots of hiking trails and paths all around the Sonnenhotel Adler, taking you up to large clearings and meadows. Your dog can look forward to a great run-around in the pastures! Whether you want to walk between mountain huts or climb to the top of a peak with your dog, you'll find lots of detailed maps and useful tips at the reception desk of our dog-friendly hotel in South Tyrol. In particular, the plateau of the Villandro Alp is a perfect place for hiking with your dog.

Our suggestions:

  • Hike through the forest to the lovely chapel of Sant'Anna
  • Circular hike to San Maurizio (it also takes you past a waterfall)
  • Chestnut trail through the Isarco Valley (62 km long; it goes right past our two hotels)
  • Hike to the Three Churches (through the forest, to escape the summer heat)
  • From Villandro to Sabiona (South Tyrol's sacred mountain)
  • Hike up to the plateau of the Villandro Alp, the second largest in Europe
